The original Forge de Laguiole® knives are fully handcrafted in-house, at their forge and workshops in the village of Laguiole, France, where it all begun in 1829. Each knife is the result of the combination of extraordinary materials, the know-how of their Master knife-smiths with the precision of a goldsmith. Forge de Laguiole® knives, for their unequaled quality and longevity, have become the reference signature of greatest Chefs and Sommeliers all around the world, as well as of lovers of beautiful knives.
A cult object, a design reference synonymous with Art de vivre and French gastronomy, the Laguiole knife has started to gain its fame and first gold medals at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900. But the First World War led to the disappearance of the cutleries of Laguiole (but not the knife) until Forge de Laguiole was reinstated in the village in 1987.
