A master piece of History, The "Bilame" is the original and true twin blade corkscrew, patented by Sanbri L’Atelier du Vin in 1949.
Often copied but never equaled, Bilame has remained a most acclaimed and best seller of L'Atelier du Vin since then.
The Bilame extracts and leaves the cork intact, even those which are old and fragile. The cork is not pierced, and thus does not crumble. As the legend goes, the Bilame was the favourite tool of waiters in French "bistrots". Thanks to it, they could take a few sips from bottles and then replace corks without anyone noticing!
How to use it ?
- Insert first the tip of the longer blade, then the tip of the shorter blade
- Rock the two blades vertically down, slowly, one after the other, with short alternate movements
- When the blades are completely driven in, remove the cork by turning and pulling in the same time
- Your cork is totally intact!
Brand: L'ATELIER DU VIN 1926
We Like: it is the limited edition of the original and historic Twin blade extractor. It doesn't damage the cork, good for collector!
We Recommend: move slowly to avoid pushing the cork inside the bottle. Bilame is the tool as well to open old bottles, which cork could be broken sometimes by wire worm corkscrew systems.
Material: made of stainless steel
