The Classics series of Chateau Laguiole was created by Master Sommelier Guy Vialis in 1993 and was the first true Laguiole shape sommelier corkscrew on the market. Since its debuts, the classics series has been a favorite among the world best sommeliers and is still, to this day, the best seller series of all high-end Laguiole corkscrew style.
The Classics has been designed to emphasize the handle material. With minimalist straight cut brass at each ending of the handle, the warmth of the wood or the glossy touch of the horn makes them a discreet and true master piece of artcraft for wine enthusiasts.
This specific model is made of East Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia). This beautiful wood is commonly used to make small precious object as well as fine furniture and musical instruments. It may have kept its specific sweet smell, rose-like scent, which appears when being worked and is more or less persistent.
