Handcrafted corkscrews finally get the double lever ease of use
The Thiers Sommelier collection is a superb modern adaptation of the beautiful "Le Thiers" knives into efficient and magnificent handmade corkscrews by Master Cutler Claude Dozorme. Dozorme is a historic Laguiole and Le Thiers knives maker in Thiers city since 1902, always creating new designs and mechanism innovations while respecting its rooted handmade & artcraft traditions.
Le Thiers knives are those eponymous knives of Thiers City, France and Europe capital city of cutlery since the Middle-Age. Patented and produced only by Thiers cutlers, "Le Thiers" knives & corkscrews have this specific double wave shape. Our team loves their aerodynamic profiling, similar to a shark in the sea we believe, and their very handy handle.
Like their cousin Laguiole (most of true Laguiole knives being historically produced by Thiers cutlers), Thiers Sommelier present generous precious handles, polished by hand, with nicely chiseled springs. On the innovation side, the much acclaimed double lever for its ease of use has replaced the traditional single Laguiole lever. Smart mechanisms of self axis fastening have been patented and inserted by Dozorme, for both the lever and the drill. That means no more "loose" lever or screw with time: you'll be able to tighten them again yourself whenever needed thanks to the little wrench provided. The drill tapered to let you open your old bottles without breaking the cork. Thiers Sommelier are assembled with micro Torx screws, the latest screw innovations with proven superior efficiency to maintain tight the parts assembled. It has as well a micro serrated edge foil cutter made of top of the range steel.
Model handle: the tip of Bos Taurus Horn with blonde shades. The tip of the horn is the hardest part of the horn.
We Like: every Claude Dozorme sommelier knife come with an adjustment wrench to allow you to self fastening its lever and drill axis, whenever needed.
We Recommend: do not wash with water or in the dishwasher: Claude Dozorme corkscrew handles are made of precious components. Water will damage them. Just use a dry tissue.
